Another blog revival?! Unexpected saran wrap nail art favorite

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. Whoaaaaa, was February really the last time I posted something?! -_- Oops.

If you've still been coming by, thank you so much. If not, well, fresh starts are always good, right? I took a much needed break (but in no way did that mean that I stopped painting my nails; I just stopped doing nail art) and will be back... once this chip on my nail grows out.

In the meantime, here's a design I did quite a while back ago (ahem, last year):

I used the saran wrap method to achieve this look. I started out with the pink base then dabbed on the grey with a ball of saran wrap. The first two nails look alright but please direct your attention to my ring and little finger. Aren't the colors just magical together?!

I used China Glaze - Strawberry Fields as the base then dabbed on Maybelline - Impeccable Greys. The shimmer from Strawberry Fields gives it such an enchanting look... like a dusty pink galaxy. Or a nebula... I could start pulling up names from my astronomy class but that would bore you haha. You know I'm a sucker for pretty grey combos.

If you look at the closeup of Impeccable Greys, you'll notice the purple ring at the top of the bottle. Impeccable Greys is not just a grey polish; it's a gorgeous amethyst grey. Yup, it's like the color of a car. The hint of purple is really what makes Impeccable Greys my favorite grey everrr. The bottle is tiny though so I try not to use it a lot. What's the point, right? Haha, maybe I'll get another bottle so that I can use it freely. That's what I did with China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise (ugh, such a lovely neon matte polish).

Let me know what you think of this color combo. Do you own Impeccable Greys? Best grey polish you own? Let me know, I want them aaaaalllllllll.

Thanks for reading!

Love,
Raine

Random Gray and Snowcone Glitter Nails

I was bored so I decided to jazz up my nails with glitter.

Taken with flash
Here I'm wearing 2 coats of Maybelline Color Show - Impeccable Greys on every nail. I used Love & Beauty's Confetti Sprinkle on the middle finger, China Glaze - Fairy Dust on the ring finger and Milani - Hot Pink on the little finger. The pointer isn't layered with any glitter.

I really have to start taking better pictures with flash. But until then, here's Orly - Snowcone and the same glitter polishes layered over it except my pointer is layered with a coat of Fairy Dust.

Thank you for reading! :D

Maybelline Color Show - Impeccable Greys

You can never have too many grays in your nail polish collection. Or so I like to think. Which is why when I stood in front of the Maybelline Color Show nail polish shelf and I couldn't decide on ONE polish, I finally picked Impeccable Greys. I remembered seeing a nice swatch of this color anyway.

So what do I think of it?

Maybelline Color Show - Impeccable Greys

The name is brilliant - love it.
The bottle is cute but I'm not sure I like gripping cylindrical bottles... I prefer to have some kind of grip - think Orly nail polish bottles.
I used 2 coats because the first coat was slightly streaky.
Overall, this polish is a keeper but what I can't stand is the brush! It's such a flimsy, skinny brush that doesn't quite spread the polish as nicely as I would like. You can probably tell from the messy cuticles... and I managed to get polish all over my skin hurhur.
I would definitely buy more polish from Maybelline but I hope that they'll make the brush flatter and rounder.

What do you think? Do you have Maybelline polishes? Like or hate the brush?

Part 3 of my US haul

Here's the rest of my nail polish haul from the US. Some of my favorite nail colors are here and I'm excited to show them to you!

Orly - Glowstick
This is fantastic! I love this neon yellow. It's everything that a neon yellow should be. I would suggest layering it over white polish to make the color pop. It really does make a difference. I'll definitely be wearing this all summer long.

Maybelline Color Show - Impeccable Greys
I love gray polishes. Obsessed with gray polishes. Tell you what I think of this gray in a later post.

China Glaze Holographic - Infra Red
My first holographic nail polish everrr! I thought I'd already bought too many colors so I decided to pick one out of all the other polishes from the Holographic Collection. It was tough just settling on one!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Lickety Lime Split
Ooh, I wish I hadn't bought this :( I have a similar green that's also from Sally Hansen. There is a difference in color but I wish I'd picked another color instead. That's the problem with thinking you have too few greens in your collection.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Mint Sprint
Now this is a different story. I adore this minty green. It's bold and bright but not neon.

Essie - Play Date
I'm obsessed with Essie nail polish. They're worth every single penny! This is a really good orchid polish. It's almost a one coater - so rich and smooth that it just glides on!

I'm a clumsy nail painter so I usually accidentally fudge my nails before they dry and when that happens I can't seem to repair the damage but with Play Date, I just dabbed a little polish to cover the dent and it smoothed out so perfectly!

Essie - The Girls Are Out
I am in LOVE with Essie - The Girls Are Out. It is such a beautiful shade of magenta and the shimmer just adds to the loveliness. Great formula and super glossy finish - ideal! I've been wearing this a lot as well. Can't get enough of it.

Wait for the posts of the swatches!
